This is the story of the 30 years old Jan Peelen(The Author) who lived in Renkum in 1944.
It tells his experiences from the Landings till the liberation in 1945. Jan was one
of the few who managed to stay behind when all the civillians were ordered to
leave the area. He got permission from the Germans to bring Milk to "Oranjes Nassau Oord"
in Wageningen and by doing that he was also able to maintain their farm in Renkum as his
parents were not allowed to stay.
Jan became involved with the resistance and played an important role in "Operation Pegasus",
the escape across the Rhine of the soldiers in hiding after the Battle.
